Management and product management

A platform is a decision, not a project

Why a platform instead of a project, and what does that mean strategically?

A project ends at acceptance. A platform carries your next ten generations of equipment. The difference does not show in the quote, it shows in the third year.

Two professionals standing among pipework and plant components in a factory, discussing something.

What a project costs you that no invoice shows

A connectivity project delivers a solution for the equipment that existed when it was ordered. The next generation of equipment is a new project. The controller purchasing found cheaper is a new project. The grid operator requirement nobody had heard of three years ago is a new project.

Each of them needs a budget, a service provider, and a date you do not control.

What a platform does differently

The protocols are built in, not bought in. Your own people do the commissioning, not a specialist of whom there are a handful in Europe. You build the interface yourself instead of ordering it. And when a new regulatory requirement arrives, it meets the platform rather than each of your devices separately.

Whether your controller is among them is in the list under Connectivity. If it is not, we build the driver, proprietary interfaces included.

The four questions that come up in review

Who owns the data? You do. You get a dedicated instance, not a shared database next to other manufacturers. Security and scale

What does it cost as we grow? Scaled by fleet size, separated into project and product business. Licensing

What about section 14a and the EAG? One integration for all your equipment, instead of one per device and grid operator. Grid services

And in five years? The same platform that collects telemetry today will predict service calls then. Without a second infrastructure. Research and edge AI

What you do not hand over

Your brand. HVACloud appears to your partners and end customers under your name. White label is standard, not a surcharge.
